Pudgy Penguins ($PENGU) Thesis

In January 2022 Pudgy Penguins looked finished. Holders voted the founders out over broken promises and an emptied treasury, and the floor fell to about 0.5 ETH. Luca Netz offered 750 ETH for the project, and his team admits it got little more than some contracts and social logins.

So they gave the penguin away for free as GIFs, and those GIFs just crossed 120 billion views on GIPHY. That reach turned into shelf space, and Pudgy toys now sit in 3,100+ Walmarts and every Target in the US.

PENGU is the coin of that penguin. It was airdropped on Solana in December 2024 to about 7 million wallets. It has no claim on the toy money, so it trades on how much people love the character.

This month the team shut down its Abstract chain after losing tens of millions and said its focus goes back to Pudgy Penguins and PENGU. On October 29 it launched The Huddle, one home for NFT holders, PENGU holders and casual fans.

The penguin that nearly got abandoned in 2022 is now the one thing its own company refuses to let go of.
