Before the green pill, the X account that became Pump.fun was @batonfinance, an NFT yield farm. The launchpad took over the cycle, but the paperwork never changed: Baton Corporation still builds pump.fun.

So the community picked up the name the team left behind. No dev, no roadmap, just the name and the dog.

What makes it more than trivia is the pair. Its main pool trades against $PUMP instead of SOL, billed as the first meme paired with Pump's own token. PumpfunEco has listed it among the platform's most traded coins, and smaller coins now launch paired against $BATON.

It has also taken the hit already. It fell about 90% from its September high, kept its holders, and came back.
