BOOK OF MEME ($BOME) Thesis

$BOME is a meme artist's joke that the market took seriously.

The artist was Darkfarms, a known name in the Pepe NFT scene who had contributed to Fake Rares, Notable Pepes and made his own Smowl and Derage collections.

In March 2024 he posted a Book of Meme page: a plan for a permanent library of memes stored on Arweave and IPFS, with the token itself as the cover. Its metadata would stay editable on purpose, so he could keep adding new pages to the book.

Think of the book of life, but for memes.

To fund it, he asked people to send SOL to his wallet for a 24-hour presale. There was no price and no contract to buy from, only a promise that everyone would get tokens in proportion to what they sent.

He expected 500 to 600 SOL, but got 10,131 SOL instead.

The next day, he closed the presale and airdropped BOME to everyone who sent in SOL. In under 24 hours $BOME was up about 50x with over 30,000 holders and more than $230M in volume.

And 2 days later it reached its all-time high of $0.0269 with a Binance listing, making it one of the fastest memecoins to get a Binance listing within just 3 days of launch.

Unfortunately the hype died as quickly as it rose, but $BOME remains one of the most liquid memecoins with an established and active community even today.

Two years later, the book is still open and growing, with over 400 memes now on Arweave.
